Registered Environmental Assessor or “REA” is a designation given by the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) to identify and register environmental assessment and compliance professionals. The California Registered Environmental Assessor program is voluntary and consists of two levels: REA I and REA II. An REA I is for professionals with 5 years of experience performing environmental assessments relating to hazardous substances and/or hazardous waste management (along with other requirements).
